Nefret has started playing catch. Well, sort of. It's adorable and I'll try to get a movie-thing of it soon. She catches pretty well for someone without thumbs...

So... life goes on. I signed up for Inboxdollars, which has been interesting so far. I get an e-mail, I click, they credit a couple cents to my account. And I don't have to give out my billing info, so it's all good. They'll send me a check when it gets to something like $30.

I have two pet-sitting gigs happening in the next two weeks, so that's going to be a nice bit of cash in my pocket.

Still being a wanker and not turning in applications for other jobs because I'm a procrastinator and a chicken.

I actually managed to do laundry the other day. Two full loads, even, without my sister whining that she needs the machines.

I really wish I could think of something to say. But I really can't. It's just been more of the same for me.

My parents seem to have almost gotten a couple puppies today. But they resisted. Daddy says he's not "ready" for another dog. It's been seven years since we had to put Dixie down. I'm not ready for another dog either, but that's because mom and I will be doing the bulk of the care because dad's never home...

And now for something completely different. From Foreantimes.com headlines:

Greeks used checmical warfare in ancient times. Yeah, I'm sorry, but didn't someone already come to this conclusion, like, years ago? And wrote a book about it?

Orangutan apparently taught herself (her name is Bonnie *forehead smack*) to whistle.

Plague of Porcupines in Colorado. (I'll take "plagues that didn't make it into the Bible for $400, Alex...)

Cute but disturbingly big ears....

I haven't decided if I want to watch anything on Tuesday or not. On the one hand, hey, historic moment here. On the other hand... ugh, politics. Will think on it...

~ Dude! *flails like mad* One of the librarians (like, the real librarians, with degrees and shit and not us lowly $8/hr circulation people) is, like, friends with Troy Duffy, and is going to go and visit him while the BDS sequel is filming. I just. I can't even. I was all like... *fangirl!flails and dies*

~ Deep breath, moving on...

~ I had this weird dream where I was trying to dyecolor my hair blue (well, streak my hair blue), but I totally fucked it up and I think I even fell asleep while I was doing it so the dye that I'd already put in made my hair turn freaky-white-blonde but the rest was a mottled brown-blue and it was disturbing because no one noticed! Weird-ass dreams are weird...

~ Okay, I just started reading Hot Target by Suzanne Brockmann. And I am loving it. Why didn't anyone tell me how awesome she is? Oh, wait, [livejournal.com profile] silentrequiem did, like, years ago. My bad.

Gaer? You were totally right. Loving this, and I have a hold on the first of I guess it's the "Troubleshooters" series and am just waiting for it to come in. Thanks!

~ I'm slowly working out plot stuff to make my NaNo not suck so bad...

P.S. Wow, I'm totally Valley Girl Writer today, aren't I?
mis_creation: (BDS)
I broke 30,000 words! I'm very happy. If I don't finish NaNo this year (which I'm still going to try to do), I'm at least making progress with how much I'm doing every year.

I moved my desk. I switched it so it was against the wall. I have to put up a mirror so I can see my TV, but I probably should've done that in the first place.

Okay, this is going to sound weird, even for me. But I swear I issued a library card to one of the fey folk yesterday. I don't know, but this kid just looked so elfish: his features were all pointy: pointy chin, pointy ears, even his hair was spiked. He was a couple inches shorter than me, too. It was like staring at the model for a cover of a book. I just couldn't help thinking that he was from Underhill and came to our side of the hill to learn about humans (gods know why...), and so he decided to go to the library like any sensible magical being.

...My head is a strange place. But seriously, this kid looked so. much. like an elf. It was just bizarre.

..."kid". Jeez, he was 20. Why do I do that?

Um...yeah. I've been all productive and shit the last couple of days. I got the dishes done before 10:00 yesterday, and I'm chipping away at the mess in my room. Which reminds me, I have to get a whole bunch of the stuffed animals out of my closet to donate them. I don't know if they should go to Crossroads Safehouse or to just the Salvation Army or what... Hmm.

A Fat Rant. I so adore this video.

And there's two others now by the same person, but one of them bores me. This one is cool, though:

Fat Rant 3: Staircase Wit

In other news...

I have Witchblade! I am a happy happy fangirl.

This series is so awesome. Not too many special features, but I really just wanted the show, anyway.

Hmm...well, today started a string of six days with shifts in a row. Not horrible, of course, since they're only 4-hour shifts, but still. I did feel sorry for a patron today, because he'd returned an item in one of our remote drop boxes and it never got here. And a couple things he returned at the same time did. So, either it got lost somehow, or someone took it. He claims the bin was really full, and he had to cram it in (which of course begs the question of why didn't he just return it in either another bin or at the library rather than cram stuff into the bin, but whatever). And it's still his responsibility until it gets checked in. Sucks for him. But it is only gonna cost him $33 to replace the thing, and it could be a lot worse...

Anyhoo, nothing really special about today, but nothing horrible either.

Oooh, wait, yes there is! I drove by one of the big pastures full of horses today, and I got to see all the babies! There were seven or so babies, all close to the fence. So cute.

So, Northern Colorado got some Xtreme! weather yesterday.

I was actually asleep for most of this time, having woken up pukey again. Except it was even worse because I couldn't even keep water down.

So by the time I actually got up, our power was out (just got it back about 20 minutes ago), there was still a tornado warning, and we didn't know the extent of the damage.

Wellington and Windsor are both about a half-hour drive from Fort Collins, so it was deeply creepy. Only one fatality, which seems like a bit of a miracle, but lots and lots of property damage and lots of freaked-out residents.

Huh. There's apparently 339,039 people with the name "Bonnie". It's the 175th most popular name.

Good to know...

LogoThere are
people with my name
in the U.S.A.

How many have your name?

No, seriously, what the flying fuck is this thing supposed to be? Apparently the skulls are real, which is just creepy as hell.

This WTF moment brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] found_objects.

And on that note, I am heading to bed soon. I actually worked two shifts today, go me. Only four-hour shifts, though...*shrug*

Retired Police suspect nation-wide killing organization targeting young, athletic men.

Though it sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. Or the next bestseller on the mystery/suspense lists...

Interesting, though...

Canadian Library Students say:

I Want To Be a Librarian

Now I'm going to be humming that all day.

Actually, several of these will probably only be really amusing to [livejournal.com profile] musesrealm, but what the hell. My journal, after all...

1 - Go to Wikipedia.
The first random Wikipedia article title that you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to The Quotations Page random quotations:
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to Flickr and click on "explore the last seven days"
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4 - Be creative. Post it.

Okay, this is just too good not to share. I was giggling like a loon reading this. The comments, two pages so far, are quite amusing as well.

Whee! It's not just our family being weird!

On learning that my sister has been listening to Christmas music (Josh Groban Christmas music, none the less) since October, has this to say:

HatiandSkoll: Since...? HUH? October is meant for evil scary fun, november for earthy oo lookie still some leaves yay type mood. Theeen the winter oo shiny.

I thought it was a good line, hereafter immortalized.

Wow. I'd forgotten how much stuff you have to do when setting up an LJ. But I've got a layout that I'm going to tweak the colors a bit, but I'm pretty happy with otherwise.

So, welcome everyone. Thanks for joining me.

In the interest of making life more ...well, interesting ... I went through LJ and joined a whole new batch of communities that sound cool. And in the process, I learned that one of the puppets from The Labyrinth is now housed in a museum in Scottsboro, Alabama. It was found in some unclaimed luggage, and this museum/shop sells the stuff that is unclaimed from airports. They wait 90 days and try to contact the owners, but after that it goes up for sale. (article here). I think that would be insanely fun to go see, just to see the puppet from the The Labyrinth in a glass case.

In other news, I have 16 more hours of work this week. This should be interesting. And I'm either getting paid on Friday or two weeks from Friday, depending on when my paperwork went through. Most likely two weeks from Friday, which means I'll be begging my parents for gas money again. But I have a source of income! Finally. Just in time for my student loan repayments to kick in.... Oh well.

So, anyway, thanks everyone for following me here. I appreciate you guys humoring my little neuroses.
