I don't like summer. It's hot, it's muggy, the library is *crazy* and usually backed-up and full of screaming kids, the biting bugs are out in force and they love me, there are stupid Sunday drivers every damn day of the week, there's massive amounts of road construction (and boy do I feel sorry for those guys!) everywhere, and people get to go on vacations that I can only dream about.

I just don't like summer. Really, I want my snow and freezing winds back, please.

There are some good parts about summer: my appetite is cut down dramatically because it's so damn hot. I can easily pick up more hours at work because of said craziness and vacations that other people get to take. The Renaissance Faire (which is probably the only time you can get me out into the sun for an entire day, my gods...) is running.

But today? Gods, today I just wanted to jump into Lake Superior. It would've felt sooooo goood, because I was so hot all damn day.

In less whiny news, I have actually cleaned my room. (Cue gasps of shock and amazement...)

Not only that, but I was good and I put away my winter clothes, which gave me more room in my drawers.

I even cleaned out my bookshelf!

Can you believe it? With the upshot being that I have two bags full of books to bring to the used bookstore tomorrow to see if I can get some store credit for them. And then the rest I'll drop off with the Friends of the Library, since I'd guess that most of them can be sold for .50 or so.

I'm getting rid of some books I haven't thought about in years, and I moved all my comics and YA stuff to a different bookshelf so it wouldn't take up so much space. And I consolidated, so now, my bookshelves look like they have books in them, instead of random piles of assorted crap. It's amazing.
