Well, not profit, per se. But still.

So, according to the taxes results I got online, I'm going to be getting $900 back.

I really want to travel. I mean, I really want to travel. I haven't traveled other than the quick jaunt to Vail in two years.

I am going to Michigan in November for Caitlin's wedding, but thankfully I've got time to save for that. And it's Caitlin's wedding, for goodness sake, of course I'm going. Too early yet to request time off...

Anyway. I know the places I really want to go (the UK, Ireland, Turkey, Mongolia) are waaaaaay outside my price range.

But surely I could afford to take a bit and drive around CO? Well, once my car gets fixed...

Shit. No, no I can't. I can't afford it. I need to pay off my credit cards, and I can't afford to take time off work.

Fine.

Travel will have to wait until October and November. Damn.

I know how you feel. I had wanted to use my taxes for something fun, maybe a trip to Marquette or put it aside for wedding stuff... but it all went to bills. It's so sad, seeing a large sum in your account and knowing you can't use any of it. :(

It's just sitting there, all pretty, and you think, my gosh! The things I can do with that!

...except them it all disappears so fast. *sigh*

This is why being an adult sucks. Why make the fun choice when there's the responsible choice? Boo...

Put half into a higher interest savings account and then put the other half on the credit cards. Remember to pay yourself first and you'll have a vacation soon enough!

That.. or Vegas!

See, you need more than that to get into the high interest savings accounts. I think most of them I've seen have a minimum of like, $1000 or more to start.

Otherwise, I'd be right there...

Damn that sucks, here in Canada they just started with the Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA), min 25$ to start. Its my plan to move forward.

I can sympathize. I kinda wanted to visit Marquette in May, but I don't think I should be spending the money when my absolute income would drop if I get that teaching job in China.

However, I really enjoyed the stream of consciousness in this post. And the icon made me lawl.

I love that icon. I took that picture at the Wild Animal Sanctuary. It was just so perfect, I had to icon it.

You could visit in say, the middle of November, when Cait's getting married!

The problem is that I'm setting a goal to leave by August to match up with the Chinese school year. I guess anything could happen, but I'll keep November in mind.
