Hoo boy...

mis_creationSo, despite the fact that I did almost nothing and left my room a handful of times, some Things have happened today.
1. On the plus side, I am most likely going to Michigan with my mom. On the negative side, we are most likely going up so my mother can see her mother one last time...Ouch.
2. We have mice in our kitchen. We knew that, but this time I got to open the cabinet, reach in and lift up the package of blue corn meal and have a mouse skitter out from under it. *shudder* I really hate that rodents scare me. It's so stereotypical. But...just ugh. So, we took the doors off the cabinets in the hopes of a) making it harder for them to get at our food (they apparently really liked the peanut butter baking chips we had in there...) and b) hopefully let our cats get them.
3. There is Something Going On in our neighborhood. We're not quite sure what, but at about 11 o'clock tonight my mom came into my room and told me that there was a fire engine sans lights or siren, and cops outside without their sirens, either. So I go upstairs to check it out, and my dad sees a guy (paramedic?) going up to one of my neighbor's houses with a bag in his hand. About forty-five minutes ago, I went out to check, and my parents said that the fire engine had left, but the cop was still there with the flashy lights. My dad said he'd heard something about one of our neighbors getting in trouble in a DD kind of way. And yet another of our neighbors, a boy that my sister literally went all through school with, is under house arrest. For what, we don't know.
Maybe it's something in the water?
Edit: Oh my gods! I also found out that Tamora Pierce, one of my favorite authors ever is going to be in Wyoming in March.
Of course, she's also going to be at a con in Wisconsin in...April? I'll have to check. But the closest she's coming to CO is WY.
